How to keep your baskets overflowing with blossoms all season

hangingBasket2Your hanging basket is probably packed full of plants, all competing for water and nutrients.

It is most important to water at least once a day. During extreme heat, you might want to check it twice a day. The basket will feel light when dry, and heavy when totally hydrated.

Add Miracle-Gro to the water every 2 weeks or a time release granular fertilizer like Osmocote every 4 months.

Remove dead flowers to encourage new blooms. If the plant gets too leggy and a little thin on top, you will need to prune. Don’t be afraid to cut back as this will stimulate more growth and new flowers.

With a little care, your hanging basket will add that needed blast of color all summer long.
